Summer Bay has just delivered one of its most explosive mid-season finales in years — and now fans have to wait almost two weeks to find out what happens next.
With Channel Seven’s Commonwealth Games coverage taking over the 7.00pm slot, Home and Away is stepping aside for a short break, returning to Australian screens on Monday, 3 August. But the show didn’t go quietly. A supersized triple episode left multiple storylines hanging by a thread, and thanks to a fresh promo and months of on-set spy photos, we now have a clearer picture than ever of exactly what’s coming next.
Buckle up, because there’s a lot to get through.
Levi’s Fight for Survival
It all started with what was supposed to be a fun adventure trip. Cash won an outdoor holiday package at John’s fundraising auction and initially had no intention of inviting Levi along — until his wife Eden insisted, aware that her brother had been struggling with loneliness while Mackenzie was away.
Levi overheard the truth about being a “pity invite” and was understandably hurt, but he went anyway, turning the trip into an unofficial competition with Cash. The pair went head-to-head in archery, a high ropes course and laser tag, much to the amusement of Mali and Tane, and somewhere in between the rivalry, the brothers-in-law finally started to bond.

But the fun didn’t last. After Tane headed home, Cash, Mali and Levi extended their trip with a trek into the bush — without telling anyone where they were going. Levi was keen to get back to Summer Bay, but Cash pushed to keep going. Then, in the episode’s final, heart-stopping moments, Levi stepped forward to look over a cliff edge, and the ground simply gave way beneath him.
He plummeted to the ground and was knocked unconscious, leaving Cash and Mali stranded with an injured friend, no phone signal, and rescue hours away.
The promo for the show’s return reveals Mali helping Cash abseil down to reach Levi, who’s found trapped with a rock crushing his arm. As Mali races through the bush searching for signal, Levi’s condition continues to deteriorate.
So, does Levi survive? Here’s some reassurance for worried fans: Tristan Gorey has been spotted still filming scenes well beyond this storyline, which strongly suggests Levi pulls through. However, with his arm crushed beneath the rock, the bigger question may be what this means for his career as a surgeon — and whether he’ll ever be the same again.

A Mysterious New Face Arrives — With a Police Record
Just as the Levi drama unfolds, Summer Bay is about to welcome a new arrival with a troubled past. Zane, played by newcomer Angus McColl, turns up unexpectedly as a friend of Marilyn’s, and it doesn’t take long for questions to start swirling about what’s really brought him to town.
Early spoilers confirm Zane is in fact an ex-convict, and on-set photos have already revealed intriguing clues about his connection to Marilyn — including a mysterious brown envelope handed over on the beach, which the pair later posted without explanation. Alf, ever the protective figure in the Bay, reportedly has serious reservations about the newcomer, and it looks like his instincts are right. Photos from later filming show Zane being led away by police, confirming this storyline is heading somewhere dark before it’s resolved.
Dana and Sonny’s Rocky Road
Elsewhere in the finale, Dana’s carefully planned marriage proposal to Sonny ended in heartbreak when he simply didn’t show up. His excuse — that he was too tired — left Dana questioning whether he’s as committed to their relationship as she thought.
With cast changes reportedly affecting both characters going forward, fans may want to brace themselves for the possibility that this rocky patch signals the beginning of the end for the couple.
Harper and Beau: A Storyline Turns Dark
One of the most unsettling threads from the finale involves Harper’s boyfriend Beau, who revealed a controlling and frightening side when he grabbed her wrist and demanded she not delete a tracking app he’d secretly installed on her phone. Despite Harper asking him to leave and breaking down in tears, Beau later managed to win her back over, and she ended up leaving the Bay to be with him after he confessed his love.
It’s a troubling turn, and there are real concerns about where this relationship goes from here, especially with reports suggesting Harper’s exit from the show may be tied directly to Beau’s behaviour escalating.

Adding another layer to Beau’s darker side, Remi discovered he’d been forcing Sonny to sell steroids at the gym — and when Remi threatened to expose him, Beau attempted to blackmail him for an eye-watering $500,000. By the end of the finale, an exhausted Remi walked away from Sonny altogether, telling him to fix his own problems. Unfortunately for Remi, it seems he won’t escape the fallout so easily — on-set filming has revealed a chilling scene of him being dumped from a car with a bag over his head, suggesting Sonny’s troubles with Beau are about to catch up with everyone around him.
New Romance Brewing for David and Amelia
Not everything on the horizon is doom and gloom. David has spent recent weeks wrestling with his feelings for Amelia, unsure if he’s ready to move on after losing his wife. On-set photos have all but confirmed a happy resolution is coming, with the pair spotted kissing on the beach and standing arm in arm — a sweet moment that suggests David is finally ready to open his heart again.
Eden’s Health Scare Brings the Fowlers Home
Fans should also prepare for an emotional storyline involving Eden, whose health takes a serious turn in the coming months. Filming has shown her collapsing and being rushed away by ambulance, prompting the return of both her parents — Jimmy and Deb Fowler — to Summer Bay.
While later scenes suggest Eden is on the road to recovery, the health scare looks set to push the ongoing tension between her and Cash over children and fostering firmly to the back burner, at least for now.
New Romance for Lacey, and a Familiar Face Returns
Sonny’s brother Dylan is set to arrive in the Bay, and it looks like romance is already blossoming between him and Lacey. On-set photos have captured the pair kissing, and further filming shows Dylan going all out to impress her with a classic car surprise. How long Dylan sticks around remains unclear, but the early chemistry between the two suggests plenty of drama and sweetness ahead.
Meanwhile, Richie is expected to make his way back to Summer Bay after previously leaving in defeat when he couldn’t secure a job reference. Reports suggest the actor has signed on for a substantial new contract, and filming shows Richie returning in a lifeguard uniform, seemingly starting fresh with a new career path. There are also strong hints of a reconciliation with ex-girlfriend Abigail, with the pair spotted looking loved-up and holding hands during recent filming.
Two Mystery Women and a Shocking Season Finale Tease
As if that wasn’t enough, two brand-new, as-yet-unnamed female characters have also been spotted filming — one interacting with Remi and Justin, and another spending significant time with Mali, sparking speculation about a possible new romance for him.
Looking further ahead, Home and Away’s traditional November season finale is already being teased, and it sounds like a big one. On-set sightings suggest Roo goes missing, with a “Missing Person” poster, a search and rescue operation, and even a burnt-out car with a body found inside all filmed in recent weeks. Thankfully, Georgie Parker has continued filming beyond these scenes, suggesting Roo survives — though she may be off screen for an extended stretch while the mystery unfolds.
Further filming appears to confirm Roo is eventually found safe, though not before a frightening confrontation with an unknown man on the beach, who drags her toward the water while making cryptic references to someone who “didn’t come home.” David and police intervene just in time, tackling the man to the ground as Roo is comforted by Marilyn and Leah.

Finally, recent sightings hint that Tane may also be departing Summer Bay, particularly if Harper and son Archie leave town for good — a heartbreaking possibility for long-time fans of the family.
The Wait Is (Almost) Over
With so many storylines colliding at once, Home and Away’s return on 3 August can’t come soon enough. Will Levi make a full recovery? What has Zane really done, and how does he know Marilyn? And can Dana and Sonny survive this rocky patch?
