1. Tane Wakes Up, Chooses a Godfather, and Dumps Jo!
The week starts with a sigh of relief as Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) finally comes out of sedation after nearly losing his life. Sergeant David arrives at the hospital with incredible news: the guard who protected Tane has fully recovered, and the evil Kerrie has officially pleaded guilty to all charges. Tane is finally a free man!
When Mackenzie (Emily Weir) visits his bedside, she drops a beautiful surprise—she asks Tane to be her unborn baby’s godfather, and an overjoyed Tane happily accepts.
However, things turn ice-cold when Jo comes to see him. Remembering how Jo pushed him away out of fear when he went on the run, Tane remains completely unforgiving. Despite Jo’s tears and apologies, Tane bluntly tells her that they are over for good, ending their relationship right there in the hospital room. Later, Harper also confronts Tane for abandoning their son Archie, but the exes eventually call a truce, promising that Archie comes first from now on.
2. Alf’s Legal Victory Turns Into a Hit-and-Run Nightmare
Back in the Bay, Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) finally opens up to David and Sonny, admitting he was only avoiding the doctor because he was terrified they would find something wrong with him. With Sonny’s encouragement, Alf takes the test, gets a clean bill of health, and officially gets his driver’s license back!
Excited, Alf plans a last-minute road trip to Merimbula to see Martha. Worried about his health, Roo secretly calls Martha and cancels the trip behind his back. Alf is absolutely furious about her interference and storms out, declaring he is going fishing at Banksia Creek instead.
But the next morning, disaster strikes. Abigail (Hailey Pinto) is rushed to the police station after becoming the victim of a brutal hit-and-run accident. The horrifying twist? The description of the speeding vehicle matches Alf’s iconic red ute perfectly!
3. Rookie Cop Richie Targets Alf as Cash Fumes
Alf strongly denies that his car hit Abigail, but over-enthusiastic rookie cop Richie (Rocco Forrester-Sach) overhears him talking to Roo. Cash catches the rookie kissing Abigail while on duty, and later finds out that Richie has been gossiping to Abigail, telling her that Alf was definitely the driver who ran her over. Elsewhere in the Bay, Sonny is determined to move back in with Dana, even though she worries it might hurt his recovery. Wanting to feel useful, Sonny teams up with Dana to help Harper plan a special first birthday party for baby Archie.
At the same time, Mali Hudson hears about Sonny’s need for a nearby training facility. Mali secretly teams up with John Palmer to re-open Summer Bay Fit while Tane is recovering. Even though Tane refuses to give his blessing from his hospital bed, Mali and John decide to go behind his back anyway and hire a brand-new trainer!
