Bruce Murray death: Home and Away veteran dies after cancer battle
Stars of Home and Away have expressed their deepest condolences for their colleague who passed away following a protracted fight with cancer.
In 2023, when crew member Bruce Murray was diagnosed with stage four oesophageal cancer that had spread to his bloodstream and developed several malignancies on his bones, the program set up a GoFundMe on his behalf.
After more than 20 years in the TV and movie business, Mr. Murray began radiation treatment on his hips, ribs, and spine before starting immunotherapy and chemotherapy.
Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie Booth on the program and was born in Queensland, shared a video of Mr. Murray on her Instagram account on Sunday.
She wrote, “I love you, Brucey, you lovely thing.”
Sarah Roberts, who as Willow Harris on Home and Away, posted old photos of the beaming technician.
“What a dude! The actor, who was born in Melbourne, remarked, “There is never a dull moment on the set or on the dance floor.”
I enjoyed going to work because I couldn’t stop laughing at his jokes and dancing skills. Brucey, I will miss you!
