Izzy Hoyland (Natalie Bassingthwaite) has unexpectedly returned to Neighbours, and it appears that she still has her sights set on Karl and Susan Kennedy (Alan Fetcher and Jackie Woodburne).

The renowned con artist was reintroduced in a shocking twist that identified Mal Kennedy (Benjamin McNair), who had just made a comeback himself, as her new partner.

In a touching scene on Thursday’s (July 14) episode of the Channel 5 soap opera, Mal surprised Susan and Karl by returning to Erinsborough.

Mal showing up out of the blue like this was unusual for him, and he recoiled whenever Susan brought up his wife Katherine, so Susan knew there was more going on than what first appeared to be the case.

Mal revealed to Susan and Karl that he and Katherine have split up and that he wants to permanently relocate to Erinsborough during Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) engagement party.

Even though Susan and Karl were sympathetic and gave him all the help they could muster, there is still one more significant twist in store for the storied couple that not even they can foresee.

At the end of the excursion, Mal went back to his hotel room at Lassiters, where he was joined by someone.

He informed the unknown woman that he had successfully informed Karl and Susan of his separation from Katherine but had not yet told them about his new relationship.

Izzy, who took great pleasure in telling her new beau that Karl and Susan “won’t see this coming,” was revealed to be the mystery woman.

Talk about a shock twist!

As viewers will recall, Izzy caused Karl and Susan’s marriage to fail by having the former’s child almost 20 years ago.

But the master manipulator is back, and whether or not she really wants to hurt Mal, it looks like she’s going to ruin Karl and Susan once more.
